12 Apostles, Port Campbell National Park, Victoria Australia.
It was a cloudy day, but as the sun went down just before it hit the horizon, it squeezed its rays through the clouds and across the ocean into my lens…
This is the 2nd post in a series of 5 posts, taken on my 8 week road trip in Southern Australia.
Absolutely stunning! I don’t know if you’ve enhanced the hues at all, but the richness of the color that you captured, and the amazing detail of the lines and foam in the waves – wow! Oh, and I like your socks. 🙂
Thanks! No, that was how the sunset was. This colour and reflection on the water was very fleeting – I had to be ready.
You should check out the photo my partner got – (he has more practice than me! lol) http://www.korinekphotography.com/Stock/Travel/Victoria/21914877_k6mTpK#!i=1747707278&k=B8t4V3Z&lb=1&s=A
My philosophy is socks MUST be stripey!
WOW – Matt’s pic there is amazing as well! What a privilege to be in such a spectacular place at just the right moment – well, it happens every day, but every sunset is different, right? 🙂
You would never imagined that it would turn out that way with such a cloudy day. I guess that is what people love about sunsets, always unique!
I hate it when somebody takes the words right out of my mouth .. err my fingers. I was thinking that it is stunning and then I saw Barry’s comment. Well he is right. It is stunning. And the reflection of the sun on the waves is fascinating. Bravo!
Thanks Vera. It is not one of my favourites, but I do like how the rays extend across the water and the frame of the photo. This was the same sunset that Matt captured at the 12 Apostles, but the camera I was using doesn’t have as wide an angle as his – so I chose to focus on the sun and show just how spectacular it can be!
